Willamette Week
" A lunch hour is much like an escape hatch, just ask
the downtown workers who cram into this charming, super-fast
Itallian grill. Made-to-order pastas like pesto and artichoke-heart-laden
fettuccine (Pesto Y Pollo) are a creamy day spa for the belly,
while spirited salads and sandwiches packed with eggplant,
fresh mozzarella, and roasted red peppers recharge!"

Citysearch Editorial Review
Editorial Rating: Recommended
Vivacious downtown lunch spot for gourmet paninis at cafe
prices.
The Scene
Bright and cheerful, La Terraza is perfect for a quick, delicious
lunch. Just steps from Pioneer Courthouse Square, the two-story
storefront always hums with lunchers--be it a weekday or weekend.
Pay at the counter, grab a seat, and then enjoy a casual atmosphere
with vintage ad posters and old hardwood floors with plenty
of character.
The Food
Grilled paninis especially sparkle here. The robust, portobello
version bursts with flavors in a terrific combination of
caramelized onions, aioli and rustic ciabatta bread, while
the grilled eggplant panini with roasted peppers makes your
mouth water. Soups are stew-thick and hearty--especially
the potato or garbanzo--and should be accompanied by a crisp,
lively salad of baby spinach, hard-boiled eggs and sweet
vinaigrette dressing. Pastas are popular; try the delicious
spaghetti con vongole with white wine sauce or Bolognese
fettuccine, balanced with bits of lean beef, prosciutto
and Italian sausage.
